This publication was issued on the occasion of the exhibition Joris Ghekiere – Journey on paper held in Mu.ZEE, Ostend from 2 July 2022 to 27 November 2022.The exhibition and the book are curated by Liesje Vandenbroeck. This catalogue publishes voor the first time in full colour more than 70 works on paper of Joris Ghekiere, all created during a one year Journey through Asia in 1990-1991.

This monographic publication with full page reproductions of Ghekiere’s paintings is published on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition of the same name in SMAK, Ghent, curated by Ulrich Loock. Loock’s essay ‘The Blindness of the Painter’, together with ‘ A letter to Joris Ghekiere (2)’ of Philippe Van Cauteren, are designed as a separate text booklet insert, that also includes a fac-simile of the ‘Notes for a conversation on the work of J.G’. by Luc Tuymans and a transcription of the conversation between Martin Germann and Joris Ghekiere. One page contains photographic source material and preparatory collages.

This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name, held in De Garage, Mechelen, 2011. The exhibition was curated by Koen Leemans and Win Van den Abbeele. This publication is richly illustrated with reproductions of Ghekiere’s recent paintings (including the series of ‘Plants’, 2010), installation views of the exhibition (site-specific wall paintings, wall prints, stills from the video-installation, and a site-specific structure in polystyrene) as well as photographs of sand circles made by the artist on his travels. The book also provides an updated CV with a list of exhibitions, publications and press.

This seminal catalogue is published in conjunction with the exhibition ‘Joris Ghekiere: Gradient Dark’ in De Bond, Brugge, curated by Win Van den Abbeele. The book includes a large retrospective selection of Ghekiere’s paintings spanning the years 1999 – 2008 and one installation view of the exhibition ‘Patterns’ in the Pocket Room Antwerp (2008). The book contains four texts on Ghekiere’s work, by Jos Van den Bergh, Thibaut Verhoeven, Jeroen de Preter and Win Van den Abbeele, as well as a biography of the artist.

This catalogue has been published on the occasion of the exposition of a series of paintings in oil and polyurethane by Joris Ghekiere at Koraalberg Art Gallery in Antwerp, from October 25th till December 8th 2001. It includes a text by Wim Peeters, and is richly illustrated with reproductions of the work from 2001, with exception of one work from 1999.
