The foundation
De JORIS GHEKIERE FOUNDATION werd opgericht door Inge Henneman met als primaire doelen
het beheer, behoud en bekendmaken van het nalatenschap van haar in december 2016
overleden partner.
De eerste bezorgdheden waren de bewaring van de werken en het in kaart brengen van de
inhoud van het nalatenschap in het kunstenaarshuis in Klein Willebroek. Er werd een grote kast
gebouwd voor de schilderijen, het archief werd geordend en in samenwerking met de stagiaires
van de foundation Emma Vandenbempt en Myrthe Moorkens (Masterstage kunstwetenschappen
KUL) werd een databank ontwikkeld om de schilderijen en werken op papier te inventariseren.
Het oeuvre verder laten leven en bekend maken gebeurt voornamelijk door tentoonstellingen
en publicaties, maar ook via de Instagrampagina en de website worden heel wat mensen

The JORIS GHEKIERE FOUNDATION was created by Inge Henneman to take care of the legacy of
her late husband Joris Ghekiere in 2017.
The first challenges were mapping the archive and managing the hundreds of paintings and
works of paper in the artist’s house in Klein Willebroek. Together with interns Emma
Vandenbempt and Myrthe Moorkens (Master students Art History, University of Louvain) a
databank was established for the inventarisation.
To promote the artistic oeuvre without the maker, exhibitions and publications are realized and
